France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.43%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.43%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.36%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which rose 6.85% or 1.80 points to trade at 28.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 4.56% or 2.83 points to end at 64.90 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 2.94% or 2.06 points to 72.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 4.60% or 1.02 points to trade at 21.18 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 3.81% or 1.20 points to end at 30.30 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 2.43% or 0.71 points to 28.49.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which rose 15.81% to 24.46, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) which was up 6.85% to settle at 28.06 and Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which gained 6.09% to close at 130.60.

The worst performers were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 20.08% to 3.90 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 7.58% to settle at 15.682 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which was down 6.60% to 31.98 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 316 to 242 and 89 ended unchanged.

Shares in Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 15.81% or 3.34 to 24.46. Shares in Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.60% or 2.26 to 31.98.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.91% to 25.59.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.99% or 18.85 to $1914.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.82% or 1.94 to hit $38.28 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.21% or 1.78 to trade at $40.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1744, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.9108.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.793.
