At the close in NSE, the declined 0.70%, while the index declined 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:), which rose 4.35% or 15.65 points to trade at 377.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:) added 3.67% or 24.60 points to end at 696.60 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:) was up 2.67% or 35.40 points to 1362.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:), which fell 19.27% or 46.20 points to trade at 195.35 at the close. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) declined 6.04% or 79.10 points to end at 1228.50 and Yes Bank Ltd (NS:) was down 5.43% or 2.35 points to 40.95.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which rose 5.05% to 377.40, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.76% to settle at 1362.40 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:) which gained 1.65% to close at 1979.50.
The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was down 6.15% to 1228.95 in late trade, Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which lost 5.21% to settle at 40.95 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:) which was down 3.27% to 116.90 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1038 to 530 and 65 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1509 fell and 833 advanced, while 168 ended unchanged.

Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.04% or 79.10 to 1228.50. Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.05% or 18.15 to 377.40. Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.15% or 80.55 to 1228.95.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 2.25 to $1510.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.13 to trade at $58.19 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.09% to 71.045, while EUR/INR rose 0.45% to 78.3520.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 98.407.
